WELCOME TO SUZHOU ECO2 LASER CO., LTD

Suzhou Hengkuai Laser (ECO2 Laser) Co., Ltd., established in 2017, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzhou Tianhong Laser Co., Ltd. It specializes in the research and development, production, sales, and service of carbon dioxide (CO₂) laser tubes. The brand was formerly known as JK LASERS, a division of the UK-based GSI. Its CO₂ glass tube business was first acquired by SPI, a subsidiary of the Trumpf Group, in April 2015, and subsequently sold to Suzhou Tianhong Laser Co., Ltd. in October 2015.

After two years of technical development, in 2017, Suzhou Hengkuai Laser Co., Ltd., as a new manufacturer, revived its CO₂ laser business—which had a 40-year brand history—and further developed the HLC and ELC series of laser tubes to meet market demand.

The company has retained the technical team from the former GSI CO₂ Division, as well as its advanced manufacturing processes—including gas filling and physical vapor deposition—commissioning technologies, and quality standards. As a result, the products deliver outstanding performance in terms of spot size, spot quality, and cutting speed, and are widely sold globally in industries such as advertising, apparel, footwear, automotive, aircraft manufacturing, electronics, and semiconductor manufacturing.

Established in 1998

Luxar was founded in Seattle, Washington, by Kathy Laakmann-Crothall and former Xanar laser engineers Paul Diaz, Michael Levy, and others. In the late 1990s, Luxar was sold to ESC.

2001

ESC and Coherent Medical merged to become part of Lumenis. During Lumenis’s post-merger reorganization, all Luxar product lines were moved out of Seattle to overseas locations: the industrial laser manufacturing business was transferred to Spectron Lasers in Rugby, England.

2003

GSI Lumonics Inc. has acquired Spectron Laser Systems, a subsidiary of the Israeli company Lumenis Ltd. specializing in industrial laser systems and headquartered in Rugby, England. This acquisition expands and complements GSI Lumonics Inc.’s laser product line, which includes diode-pumped solid-state lasers (LPSS) and carbon dioxide (CO₂) technology. The initials of Spectron Laser Systems are the origin of the name “SLC,” which designates our CO₂ laser series.

2012

GSI Group Inc. (formerly GSI Lumonics Inc.) rebranded its YAG and CO2 lasers under the JK LASERS brand. At that time, the CO2 laser series was named ECO2 SLC.

2015

Tianhong Laser, a major Chinese laser manufacturing group, has acquired the globally renowned brand “JKlasers,” along with all the technology, product lines, and technical teams associated with the brand’s CO₂ lasers.

2017

Suzhou Hengkai Laser Technology Co., Ltd. (SUZHOU ECO2 LASER CO., LTD) was established and is located in the Suzhou Industrial Park in China. The company operates a 20,000-square-meter production facility specializing in CO2 lasers. Mr. Jinchaolong, Chairman of Tianhong Group, stated: “The soul of the brand is about to be redefined, ensuring that the quality and technology of JKlaser lasers are preserved and further developed within Tianhong to serve more users worldwide.”
